Visit of the FREMM Languedoc

The Multi-Mission Frigate Languedoc docked in Brooklyn form September 1st to September 6, 2016.This 8000-ton warship, 142-meter-long, built for surface combat and anti-submarine and anti-aircraft fight, was delivered to the French Marine Nationale on March 16th, 2016. Its combat system is conceived to integrate information from radars, sonars and infrareds. It is capable of handling technical liaisons and thus contains 21 million lines of code, making it a jewel of modernity. It is under the command of Captain Guillaume Arnoux who greeted us on board on September 1st.
of FranceThe reception was attended by Ms. Anne-Claire Legendre, Consul General, Mr. Eric Bayer, Deputy Consul General, Lt Col Patrick du Tertre, President of the Association of French Reserve Officers in the US.
We had the pleasure to meet Col Jason R Musteen, Chief of the Military History Division at the US Military Academy and our dear friend Col (USAF, Ret) Terrance Holliday, Former NYC Commissioner of Veterans’ Affairs.
The Federation was represented by our President Alain Dupuis, 1st Voce President Joseph Crouzilhat, 2nd Vice President Daniel Falgerho, Treasurer henri Dubarry, Pierre martinez and Yves Busnel, members of the Color Guard.
