The traditional Veterans’ Day Parade produced by the United War Veterans Council was held on Friday November 11, 2016 on 5th Avenue in New York City.
We were honored to have Ms. Anne-Claire Legendre, Consul General of France was in attendance.
Our group was represented by Alain Dupuis, President, Paul Garabedian, Secretary, Henri Dubarry, Treasurer, Pierre Martinez, André Ferrara, Color Guard, Michel Dumerchat, Michel Boulard and Daniel Falgerho, 2nd Vice President. Jacques Letalon, Bandmaster and Les Cadets Lafayette made a spectacular appearance.
A delegation of cadets of the French Military Academy (Ecole Spéciale Militaire de St-Cyr) attending courses at West Point drew much attention in their full dress uniform based on the Infantry uniform of 1845.
Pershing Generally Speaking and WW I Doughboys Long Island Living History Association in impeccably accurate uniforms and equipment of the First World War campaign also drew much admiration.
